PENGARUH MENTAL HEALTH TERHADAP DISFUNGSI SOSIAL SISWA DI MTSN 6 AGAM

Abstrak

Mental health is an important foundation that influences all aspects of an individual's life, including the ability to optimally carry out social roles. Poor mental health conditions can have an impact on the emergence of social dysfunction, especially in adolescent students. This study aims to determine the effect of mental health on social dysfunction in grade VII students at MTsN 6 Agam, determine the extent of the influence of mental health on social dysfunction, and identify the level of mental health of students in relation to the social dysfunction experienced. This study was motivated by the discovery of various problems in grade VII students, such as difficulty working together in groups, often absent from school without clear reasons, social withdrawal, difficulty communicating in social situations, conflicts with friends and teachers, emotional stress in the form of anxiety and low motivation to learn, to symptoms of excessive stress that impact sleep disorders. The type of research used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach and regression analysis. The population of this study was all grade VII students of MTsN 6 Agam, totaling 281 students. The research sample was determined using a cluster random sampling technique, resulting in a sample of grade VII.1 to VII.3 students with a total of 93 respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using a simple linear regression test. The results of the study showed that mental health significantly influenced students' social dysfunction, with an R-square value of 0.299. This indicates that mental health contributed 29.9% to social dysfunction, with the remainder influenced by other factors not examined. Therefore, it can be concluded that mental health significantly influences the social dysfunction of seventh-grade students at MTsN 6 Agam. Therefore, systematic efforts are needed from the school to improve students' mental health to minimize the occurrence of social dysfunction.
