Abstrak

This research is motivated by students' attitudes such as bad manners of speaking to teachers and friends, being lazy in doing assignments and so on. This is not significant compared to the way and personality of Islamic Religious Education teachers behave towards their students. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the personality of Islamic Religious Education teachers and the attitudes of fifth-grade students of SDN 04 Sungai Talang, Guguak District. The type of research used is quantitative correlational research using a questionnaire instrument. The population is 19 fifth-grade students of SDN 04 Sungai Talang. Data collection was taken through questionnaires and documentation. The collected data, in accordance with this type of research, namely two-variable research, the independent variable (X) and the dependent variable (Y) are ordinal, so the author uses the contingency coefficient correlation formula. The results of the study indicate that the personality of Islamic Religious Education teachers has a significant relationship with students' attitudes and is categorized as "Good" with a percentage of 80.13% and students' attitudes are categorized as "Good" with a percentage of 76.80%. Meanwhile, the relationship between Islamic Religious Education teacher personality and fifth-grade students' attitudes showed a contribution of 0.940 × 100% = 0.94%, with the remainder influenced by other variables. The rxy value of 0.940 with df = 16 is greater than the rt at both the 5% and 1% significance levels, i.e., 0.497 < 0.940 > 0.623. This means that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected.
