The integration of Islamic thought into the practice of professional guidance and counseling, particularly in the field of mental health, represents an important academic discourse that seeks to harmonize religious values with psychological approaches. Mohammad Natsir, as one of the prominent Islamic intellectuals in Indonesia, has provided significant contributions to Islamic thought, especially in terms of morality, ethics, and social responsibility, which can be implemented in various professional fields, including counseling. His ideas emphasize the importance of balance between rationality and spirituality, which becomes highly relevant when addressing mental health issues in contemporary society. Guidance and counseling as a profession not only aim to help individuals overcome psychological difficulties, but also to direct them toward a meaningful life in accordance with moral and ethical values. In this context, the thoughts of Mohammad Natsir provide a strong foundation for the integration of Islamic principles with counseling practices, ensuring that the counseling process not only addresses the cognitive and emotional aspects of individuals but also nurtures their spiritual dimensions. This integration is particularly urgent in a modern era that often tends to separate professional practices from religious and moral values. This study uses a library research approach to explore Mohammad Natsir’s ideas and their relevance to the professional practice of mental health counseling. Through an in-depth analysis of his works, it is expected that a comprehensive conceptual framework will emerge, which can serve as a reference for the development of counseling practices based on Islamic values. Furthermore, the integration of his thought into the field of mental health is expected to enrich the discourse on Islamic counseling, while also strengthening the role of Islamic intellectual heritage in responding to modern psychological challenges.
