Abstrak

This study examines the relationship between perceptions of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and emotional intelligence in the soccer team at SMA Negeri 7 Sijunjung. Islamic Religious Education aims not only to fulfill intellectual needs but also to shape character with noble morals. This learning is expected to help students control their emotions, especially athletes who are required to maintain sportsmanship during matches. However, initial observations indicated that soccer players at the school frequently exhibited negative emotional behavior during matches, despite frequently winning. Based on this, the study identified several problems, including low student interest in PAI learning, a lack of discipline in the learning process, students' susceptibility to emotional outbursts during matches, difficulty controlling emotions when facing match pressure, and a tendency for emotions to escalate when losing. This study employed quantitative methods. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and documentation. In this study, data analysis was conducted through data description, prerequisite analysis, hypothesis testing, and linear regression testing to determine the correlation between the emotional intelligence of the SMA Negeri 7 Sijunjung football team.The results of the study indicate that the perception of Islamic religious education learning influences the emotional intelligence of the SMA Negeri 7 Sijunjung football team. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence between the perception of Islamic religious education learning and the emotional intelligence of the SMA Negeri 7 Sijunjung football team. Based on calculations using SPSS 22, the calculated t-value was 5.044. Comparing the calculated r-value with the table r-value, using a significance level of 5% (95% confidence level) or 0.05 with N=20 and degrees of freedom n-2=20 (20-2), the calculated t-value is 5.044 > t-table 2101..
