Abstrak

This research is motivated by the low learning activity of students in the learning process. It can be seen from the lack of student involvement in learning activities, some students do not want to ask when there is material that is not understood, and in discussion activities only a few students follow the teacher's instructions to actively participate in discussion activities while other students are busy discussing topics that are not in accordance with the material being discussed. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model assisted by wordwall media on student learning activity in the PAI subject of class XI at SMAN 1 Sungai Puar. This research is a quantitative research with an Experimental research method and a Pre-experimental design (One Group Pretest-Posttest Design). This study consists of 2 (two) variables, namely the independent variable (independent variable) Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model assisted by wordwall media, and the dependent variable (dependent variable) learning activity. Data collection was carried out using a learning activity questionnaire. The population of this study was 79 students and the sample was 23 students with the sampling technique used being purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that after conducting a paired sample t-test by comparing the results of the pretest and posttest, it can be seen that the Sig. (2 tailed) value obtained a result of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05. And also seen from the average value, the average value before applying the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model assisted by wordwall media was 98.91 and the average after applying the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model assisted by wordwall media was 119.48. Based on the average value, it can be seen that there is a difference between the average value before and after applying the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model assisted by wordwall media. Based on the predetermined decision-making criteria, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The results of this test answer the research hypothesis, demonstrating the effect of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model with the aid of wordwalls on student learning engagement in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in grade 11 at SMAN 1 Sungai Puar.
