Abstrak

This research is motivated by the emergence of problems related to students' understanding of humanism values, which are characterized by a lack of understanding of some students about the concept of mutual respect, low knowledge of some students about the importance of having concern for others, and some students who still cannot understand the attitude of helping and cooperation well. Based on these conditions, innovation is needed in the application of learning models that can help to instill humanism values ​​in students through their active involvement during the learning process. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) learning model on the understanding of humanism values ​​in the Al-Qur'an Hadith Phase D subject at MTsN 10 Agam. This research is a quantitative study using the Quasi Experimental research method with a Post Test Only Design with Nonequivalent Groups research design. Data collection was carried out using tests in the form of Post Tests and observations of teachers and students. The population in this study was 92 students and the number of samples in this study was 48 students with the sampling technique used, namely Cluster Random Sampling which was carried out through a homogeneity test on the population, then the sample was selected randomly by drawing lots. Based on the data analysis and discussion, the findings of this study indicate that the implementation of the Value Clarification Technique learning model has a significant impact on students' understanding of humanistic values. This is supported by the results of the Independent Sample T-Test, with a 2-tailed significance value of 0.001. The decision-making basis, if the significance value is <0.05, indicates a difference in student understanding scores between the experimental class using the Value Clarification Technique learning model and the control class using the Discovery Learning learning model. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Value Clarification Technique learning model has a significant impact on students' understanding of humanistic values.
