Abstrak

This research is motivated by the problem faced by Islamic Religious Education teachers, namely that some grade XII students have been found to have time to play games during group discussions. Then it was also obtained information that students play online games because they are influenced by their peers or in the surrounding environment. Then, there are also those who are interested in playing online games because they fill their free time. Then the impact of students who are addicted to online games on Islamic Religious Education learning occurs due to a lack of understanding of religious knowledge, so that it influences student behavior that tends to be bad. This research is a qualitative research that uses field research and data collection using observation, interview, and documentation methods. Then the analysis technique through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The informants in this study are Islamic Religious Education teachers and students at SMAN 1 IV Koto, Agam Regency. This study aims to determine how Islamic Religious Education teachers' efforts in overcoming online game addiction in grade XII students of SMAN 1 IV Koto and what factors hinder Islamic Religious Education teachers in overcoming online game addiction in grade XII students of SMAN 1 IV Koto. The results of the study can be concluded that the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in overcoming online game addiction in class XII students of SMAN 1 IV Koto, Agam Regency, are: (1) the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in overcoming online game addiction in class XII students of SMAN 1 IV Koto include controlling the use of cellphones, communicating with parents through WhatsApp Groups created by the homeroom teacher, and inviting students to do positive activities. (2) the inhibiting factors of Islamic Religious Education teachers in overcoming online game addiction in class XII students of SMAN 1 IV Koto include lack of control from parents, lack of student awareness about the negative impacts of online games, the influence of friends, limited teacher time, and lack of teacher understanding about technology.
