KOMPETENSI SOSIAL GURU PAI DALAM PEMBINAAN NILAI AKHLAK PADA SISWA DI SMPN 7 BUKITTINGGI

Abstrak

This study is based on initial observations at SMP Negeri 7 Bukittinggi, which revealed that the process of fostering students' moral values by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers still faces various challenges, particularly in building social closeness with students. Limited interaction has led to moral values being taught only theoretically, with minimal impact on students' behavior. This research aims to describe the social competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering moral values among students at SMP Negeri 7 Bukittinggi. The social competence of teachers is a crucial factor in shaping students' character and morals, especially in establishing healthy and educational relationships between teachers and students. This study employs a qualitative approach using data triangulation techniques. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct field observation, and supporting documentation. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers at the school have demonstrated good social competence. This is reflected in their harmonious interactions with students, effective collaboration with fellow teachers and the principal, and open communication with parents and the surrounding community. The relationships built by teachers play a significant role in the moral development of students by creating a conducive learning environment filled with exemplary behavior and mutual respect. Therefore, teachers’ social competence contributes significantly to shaping students' noble character and morality within the school environment.
